The itinerary

Day 01

Lake Manyara Safari and Overnight in Mto wa Mbu

Travel from Arusha to the small Lake Manyara National Park. Not only is this park a bird lover's paradise with over 400 species of birds, but it is also home to primates such as baboons and blue monkeys, as well as many herbivores, including elephants, hippos, wildebeest, impalas, and giraffes.
Catch a glimpse of the more carnivorous inhabitants, such as leopards and lions.
See the landscape change from lush acacia woodlands to grassy floodplains, where colonies of flamingos and other waterfowl can be found along the alkaline shoreline of Lake Manyara.
Leave the park and head to your campsite in the small town of Mto Wa Mbu.

Spend the evening relaxing by the pool or at the bar before your evening meal and overnight stay in the tent.

Day 02

Through the Highlands to Serengeti National Park

Continue toward the fertile highlands, where wheat, coffee, and corn are grown by the Iraqw people.
Pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and see the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater before travelling onward to Serengeti National Park, which you will reach by midday.

Camp overnight in the Seronera area in central Serengeti.

Day 03

Game Drive in the Serengeti

Explore Serengeti National Park and go close to where the migrating herds are found. During the short rainy season in November and December, the herds make their way from the hills in the north to the plains of the south, returning north during the long rainy season from April to June. Their exact location differs each year as they migrate according to the rainfall, but your guide will know where you will be able to see them best. You will also have a chance to spot leopards, cheetahs, and lions.
Return to the campsite in the Seronera area for your evening meal and overnight stay.

Day 04

Serengeti Game Drive to the Crater Rim

Set out on another game drive in the Serengeti before continuing towards the Ngorongoro Crater.
Take in the fantastic, awe-inspiring views of the collapsed volcano. Your campsite lies directly on the crater's edge, offering a once-in-a-lifetime view as the sun slowly sets over the crater.
