Day by day

The itinerary

Day 01

Hanoi to Buoclom and Pac Ngoi Village

6:00 to 7:00 am - Pick up from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter and depart for Ba Bể National Park.
9:00 am - Stop for a rest at Bo Dau village, which is famous for its special Chung cake.
10:00 am - Visit Duom Temple.
12:00 pm - Arrive in Chợ Rã town, where you can have lunch at a local restaurant.
1:30 pm - Arrive at Buoclom wharf, where you will take a boat ride to Ba Bể Lake. Enjoy a boat trip along the Năng River and stop at Puông Cave, which is famous for its bats.
3:30 pm - Visit Anma Temple.
5:30 pm - Hike about 1 km to a nearby homestay in Pac Ngoi village, a small village of the Tay people.
7:30 pm - Dinner with a traditional Tay music performance (chargeable). If you are interested, you can share the cost of the show with other tourists at the homestay.

Overnight stay at the homestay.

Day 02

Ban Gioc Waterfall, Nguom Ngao Cave and Cao Bằng

6:00 am - Enjoy breakfast at the homestay and relax with a cup of coffee.
7:00 am - Check out and drive to Cao Bằng. Along the way, you will see beautiful passes such as Wind Pass, Khau Khang Pass, Tai Ho Sin Pass, and Cao Bac Pass.
11:30 am - Have lunch in Quang Uyen town.
1:30 pm - Visit the beautiful Ban Gioc Waterfall.
3:00 pm - Continue to Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in northern Vietnam, with a total length of 3 km. It features a majestic system of stalactites and stalagmites.
5:30 pm - Proceed to Phu Sen village, followed by a return drive to Cao Bằng.

Dinner and overnight stay in Cao Bằng.

Day 03

Pac Bo Option or Return to Hanoi via Lạng Sơn

Option 1:

6:00 am - To visit the Pac Bo site, check out at this time. Have breakfast after arriving at Pac Bo, a historic site with beautiful green scenery all around.
8:45 am - Return to Cao Bằng, where you will be further transferred for flight departures accordingly.

Option 2:

7:00 am - Have breakfast, then enjoy free time to rest or shop at Cao Bằng market.
8:00 am - Check out.
8:45 am - Transfer to Lạng Sơn.
12:00 pm - Have lunch at a local restaurant on top of Wind Pass.
6:30 pm - Return to Hanoi.
