Iseltwald, Giessbach Waterfalls, Brienz and Aare Gorge
Leave Interlaken in the morning and drive to Iseltwald, a traditional small village where the world seems to stand still on the picturesque Lake Brienz.
Take a stroll around the village and capture photos of the great views.
Stop at the famous Giessbach Waterfalls above Lake Brienz.
Be impressed by the 14 waterfalls. Go for a walk "under the waterfall" and visit the "magical place museum," or simply relax on the terrace of the historic Swiss Grand Hotel Giessbach while enjoying the great view over the waterfalls and the turquoise green-blue Lake Brienz.
Ride Europe's oldest funicular down to the lake, from where you take a boat to cross to Brienz.
Have lunch and discover the traditional chalet houses. Stroll along the wonderful lake promenade and pick up some typical cow souvenirs from the local wood manufacturer.
Take a short drive to Meiringen and the Aare Gorge. From November until March, the gorge is closed. Instead, you will visit the incredible Lauterbrunnen Valley.
Visit Lake Thoune and enjoy one last beautiful viewpoint and relaxing stop before returning to the buzzing tourist town of Interlaken.
