The itinerary

Day 01

Trek from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga

  • Begin your first day's trek at Nayapul.

  • Walk along the banks of the Modi Khola River to reach Birethanti (1,100 m), a charming village with many shops and tea houses. Continue through the village and follow the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola River.

  • This is followed by a 4-5 hour trek to reach Tikhedhunga at 1,480 m.

Day 02

Climb to Ghorepani Village

  • Begin today with a steep climb to Ulleri, a stone village at an altitude of 1,960 m.

  • From here, pass through fine forests of oak and rhododendron as the trek continues towards Nangethanti at 2,460 m.

  • After an hour's walk, arrive at Ghorepani village (2,874 m) in Myagdi District in the Dhaulagiri Zone of north-central Nepal.

Day 03

Poon Hill Sunrise and Trek to Tadapani

  • Start the day with an early morning hike to the Poon Hill area (3,210 m). This vantage point provides an unobstructed sunrise view over the high Himalayas. Spend an hour here before returning to Ghorepani village.

  • Enjoy a hearty breakfast before continuing your trek through rhododendron forests towards Deurali (3,200 m). From here, descend to Banthanti and continue on to Tadapani (2,630 m).

Day 04

Trek through Forests to Chomrong

  • Continue trekking downhill through rhododendron forests and reach a Gurung village.

  • This is followed by an easy walk to Chomrong (2,170 m).

Day 05

Rocky Trails to Himalaya Hotel

  • Today's trek continues towards Khaldighar. This section is quite steep and takes you along rocky paths with bamboo thickets on the side. The walk ends at the Himalaya Hotel.

Day 06

Via Machapuchare Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp

  • On day 6, continue your trek with a climb past Hinko Cave to reach Machapuchare Base Camp, beneath Machapuchare (6,993 m), a mountain in the Annapurna Himalayas.

  • Next, continue from Machapuchare Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m). Here, rest while enjoying the surrounding mountain views.

Day 07

Descend to Bamboo

  • Start early for Bamboo, the destination for the day. The trail follows the same route as the previous day, but this time the path heads downward. The altitude drops by 1,700 m near the banks of the Modi Khola River before arriving at Bamboo.

  • You have the option of an overnight stay at the tea houses or lodges here.

Day 08

Return to Jhinu and Hot Springs

  • On the second-last day, the trail follows the same route as the previous day until reaching Chomrong.

  • On the way, pass Khaldighar again as well as an experimental sheep farm. A steep climb follows before reaching Jhinu. There are some natural hot springs here, where you can take a bath if interested.

Day 09

Walk to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara

  • On the last day, return to the banks of the Modi Khola River and walk along it for around four to five hours to reach Birethanti. From here, continue to Nayapul for the return drive to Pokhara.
