Day by day

The itinerary

1
Day 01

Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Hille

  • Start at about 8 am from Pokhara, the main town closest to the Annapurna Himalaya range.

  • Take a taxi to Nayapul to begin the Poon Hill trek.

  • Start trekking from Nayapul, the trekking entry point, to Birethanti in about one hour.

  • Have lunch at Birethanti.

  • Trek to Hille village, passing through mountain forests and rivers.

  • Stay overnight at a tea house.

Trekking time - 6-7 hours.

Day 02

Trek from Hille to Ghorepani via Ulleri

  • Walk straight up the face of the mountain for about 5-6 hours, eventually catching glimpses of the white snow-capped Annapurna peaks.

  • Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani via Ulleri, passing thousands of stone-paved steps as you ascend.

  • Stay at Upper Ghorepani village, which offers the best views of Annapurna South and the Nilgiri Mountains.

Trekking time - 5-6 hours.

Day 03

Poon Hill Sunrise Trek to Tadapani and Ghandruk

  • Hike to Poon Hill to view the sunrise over the amazing Himalayas. Poon Hill is the highest altitude of this trek, situated at 3,210 m, and offers magnificent panoramic views of the Annapurna Range, including Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and 20 of the highest mountains.

  • Return to the hotel for breakfast and begin the trek to Ghandruk village.

  • Trek through rhododendron forest and rest at Tadapani before reaching Ghandruk village.

  • Stay overnight in a tea house at Ghandruk. Ghandruk is actually quite a large village, and the views of Annapurna from here are outstanding.

Total trekking time - 6-7 hours.

Day 04

Ghandruk to Nayapul and Return to Pokhara

  • Trek downhill to Nayapul via Birethanti.

  • Drive back to Pokhara by car. (1-hour drive)

  • Stay overnight at the same hotel near Fewa Lake in Pokhara.
