Mandalay to Wanet Elephant Camp Experience
Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location and drive southeast of Mandalay city.
Stop at the local flower market near Latkaung village and see the lively morning scene of flower sellers and buyers. It is the biggest flower market, where growers come to sell a wide variety of colorful blooms. See seasonal flowers such as aster, Eugenia, cobra-saffron, jasmine, gladiolus, and chrysanthemum.
Continue driving and enjoy the different cultivation landscapes along the road.
Visit a slake lime production site on the way. We will contribute USD 1 on behalf of each tourist to support the education of the children of slake lime workers.
Drive for about 45 minutes to reach Wanet Elephant Camp, located at the foot of the Shan mountain ranges.
Participate in bathing the elephants. Learn about the daily activities of mahouts, the nature of Myanmar timber elephants, and see the skeleton of a dead elephant in the bamboo house.
Ride an elephant into the natural woods and see the beautiful mountains, green flora, and natural stream.
Plant one tree, such as teak (Tectona grandis) or ironwood (Xylia dolabriformis), for environmental preservation and reforestation.
Drive back to Mandalay and arrive in the afternoon.
