The itinerary

Day 01

Entebbe Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi

  • Meet your local tour guide at the airport for pick-up and transfer.

  • Make a stop at the Uganda Equator crossing in Kayabwe for an amazing and exciting photo shoot. Water experiments can be carried out to demonstrate the geographical separation between the Southern and Northern Hemispheres.

  • Head to the Igongo Cultural Centre before Mbarara town for lunch.

  • Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02

Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

  • Have an early morning breakfast and get a packed lunch before heading for the briefing by the park guide at the headquarters.

  • Hike into the forest in search of the fascinating mountain gorillas. Get a chance to look into their deep, rare eyes and observe their feeding habits, among other interesting features of these ancient apes, which are endangered worldwide. Gorilla tracking may take up to 8 hours depending on the weather and where the gorillas are at that particular time. Bwindi features a minimum of 400 mountain gorillas, of which 12 groups are habituated for tracking. There are 4 regions from which tracking is done: Ruhijja, Buhoma, Nkuringo, and Rushaga.
