The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Yerevan

  • Arrive in Yerevan and meet your local tour guide for pick-up and transfer to your hotel.

Day 02

Garni, Geghard and Armenian Traditions

  • Feel the mystery and admire the 4th-century Geghard Monastery, cut into the side of the rock.

  • See the spear in the museum of Etchmiadzin, with which a Roman soldier pierced Christ's side.

  • Continue your wonderful tour to 1st-century A.D. Garni, the only standing heathen temple in Armenia.

  • Take the opportunity to participate in a master class on baking traditional Armenian bread called lavash.

  • Walk around the medieval Armenian monastic complex of Kecharis Monastery, dating from the 11th to 13th centuries, located 60 km from Yerevan in the ski resort town of Tsaghkadzor.

Day 03

Khor Virap and Holy Etchmiadzin

  • Drive through the pretty Ararat Valley to the 4th-century monastery of Khor Virap, where you will enjoy the view of Mt. Ararat. Khor Virap means the "deep dungeon," where the first Armenian Catholicos, Gregory the Illuminator, was detained for 13 years in the 4th century for spreading Christianity in Armenia.

  • Go to the spiritual capital, Etchmiadzin, with your Armenian tour guide.

  • Visit the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the religious centre of Armenia. The church was built on the place where the Son of God appeared in a dream to the first Catholicos of Armenia.

  • Participate in the holy liturgy.

  • Enjoy the 7th-century sanctuary of Zvartnots, which means "Angels' meeting."

  • Transfer to Zvartnots International Airport.
