The itinerary

Day 01

Banteay Srei and the Grand Circuit Temples

  • Meet your Siem Reap tour guide at an agreed-upon location.

  • Drive to Banteay Srei in the morning, a beautiful temple located about 35 km outside Siem Reap town, and stop at a local community en route to taste some palm wine and palm sugar, depending on the season, along with other local products.

  • Visit the Cambodian Landmine Museum and Relief Facility, located about 10 km south of the temple, to learn about Aki Ra, who pioneered landmine clearance in Cambodia, followed by a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

  • Head to Pre Rup mountain temple, which was built in 962 by King Rajendravarman and made entirely of brick, laterite, and sandstone.

  • Proceed to East Mebon temple, another ancient temple built in the 10th century that now sits on a dry reservoir, along with Ta Som temple, built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII and located just northeast of Angkor Thom. Also see the small Neak Pean temple, built on an artificial island.

Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 02

Angkor Wat and the Small Circuit

  • Visit Angkor Thom and the site of the ancient Royal Palace, along with the Terrace of the Leper King, the Elephant Terrace, Baphuon Temple, and the popular Bayon temple.

  • Stop to take photos of the Angkor Thom South Gate with its stunning gate and causeway, followed by a visit to Ta Prohm, one of the most famous temples in the park.

  • Head to the extraordinary Angkor Wat after lunch, a huge temple with three levels and five main towers, whose inner walls are made of bas-reliefs depicting ancient Hindu mythology.

Day 03

Roluos Group Temples and Bakheng Mountain

  • Leave the hotel after breakfast and head east to see the three Roluos temples - Lolei, Preah Ko, and Bakong - which were Buddhist temples.

  • See the three towers with stone lions and intricate carvings at Preah Ko, along with the first temple-mountain of Bakong, made of sandstone during the Khmer Empire.

  • Visit the Genocide Museum en route and marvel at a local Buddhist pagoda before heading for lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to a village and market to see locals go about their everyday business. You can also buy inexpensive gifts and souvenirs.

  • Proceed to Bakheng Mountain, which was established in the early 10th century, to see the wonderful view over Angkor Wat.

  • Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

  • You are advised not to bring valuables on the tour.

  • You must cover your knees and shoulders when entering the temples.

  • Payment is required before starting the tour. It can be paid to the driver/guide on the day.

  • We require 48 hours' cancellation notice, after which the full fee will be charged for cancellation.
