Day 01

Trotternish, Duntulm Castle, Dunvegan Castle and Neist Point

  • Meet your Scottish tour guide in Portree for pick-up and transfer to the Inner Hebrides.

  • Travel north to your first stop, The Kilt Rock. This famous sea cliff in northeast Trotternish is said to resemble a kilt, with vertical basalt columns forming the pleats and intruded sills of dolerite creating the pattern.

  • Take a short drive to the Duntulm Castle ruins for a photo stop. This was the seat of Clan MacDonald in the 17th century.

  • Head southwest to visit a small farm steading and experience the making of sheepskins.

  • Continue to Dunvegan Castle, once the seat of the chiefs of Clan MacLeod, first built in the 13th century and developed over the centuries.

  • Enjoy a delicious lunch.

  • If time allows, take a short detour to Neist Point for a panoramic photo stop before heading back.
