The itinerary

1

Day 01

Arrival in Upington and Kalahari Desert Experience

• Arrive and be picked up from Upington International Airport.
• Have breakfast between 09:00 and 10:30. Alternatively, you can enjoy a wine-tasting experience at the Orange River Wine Tasting Centre.
• Take the Kalahari red dune route to Ashkam. On arrival, enjoy lunch at Diamond T Coffee Shop.
• Visit the game-fenced Erin Farm in a Kalahari landscape, home to many professional Bushman tracker guides.
• Continue to Hakskeenpan, a mud and salt pan in the Kalahari Desert. Here, you will meet Mr Bott, who will share valuable insights into the Bloodhound Project and show you a portion of the track prepared by the local communities.
• Later, indulge in activities such as donkey cart rides, star-gazing, storytelling, and dancing before dinner. Overnight stay at the Kalahari tented camp.

Day 02

Upington Wine Tasting and Sundowner Cruise

• Depart for Upington after breakfast at 08:30.
• Enjoy a wine-tasting tour in Upington with Orange River Wine Cellars.
• Check in at Protea Hotel Upington/The Oasis (SD1). Have lunch, and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
• Later, depart for a sundowner cruise at Sakkie se Arkie. Afterward, have dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03

Augrabies Falls, Kakamas, and Riemvasmaak

• Depart for Augrabies Falls Nature Reserve after checking out from the hotel.
• Arrive at the falls and enjoy the beautiful views. Then depart for Kalahari Gateway Hotel for lunch.
• Visit Die Pienk Padstal, a roadside stall in Kakamas, where you can buy refreshments.
• Proceed to Riemvasmaak for a hot spring experience. This is a community-based project started to provide work for local people.
• Later, depart for the African Vineyard Guest House. Check in and enjoy a spa treatment before dinner.

Day 04

Community Experience, Wine Tasting, and Departure

• Depart for the Curries Camp Community Experience after breakfast. This activity is optional.
• Visit Bezalel Wine and Brandy Estate for an entertaining tasting experience.
• Depart for Upington International Airport.
