Start the day with a Soviet Yerevan city tour, where you can witness the legacy of Armenia's communist past through modernist architecture, art, local habits, and stories shared by your guide.
Explore the hidden gems of Armenia's capital, including remains of the Soviet way of life and how things have changed in recent decades.
Later, visit the museum of the prominent architect Alexander Tamanyan, who reconstructed the city during the early Soviet period.
Hop on a one-hour drive to Sevan, one of the largest freshwater mountain lakes in the world. Here, you will hear the story of how communist policies damaged the ecosystem and caused the lake's water level to drop by more than 20 meters.
Visit the Soviet-era sanatorium, the famous Writers Union building, as well as the medieval Sevanavank Monastery located on a peninsula.
Explore the Sergei Parajanov Museum, where you can enjoy the unmatched creativity of Parajanov's art and hear the story of this unique art film director, artist, and genius, who was repressed by communist authorities.
Head to the GUM Market, where groceries are still sold in much the same way as they were in the 20th century.
Take a trip towards Jermuk, the Soviet favourite spa-resort town, beginning with a stop at Khor Virap Monastery, which is also the closest point to Mount Ararat.
Visit the public 'galleria' of hot natural mineral water fountains, a famous waterfall, Communist-era sanatoriums, and more. On the way back, stop near Areni village, famous for winemaking and the excavations of the oldest-found winery in the world. After the factory excursion, you will have an opportunity to taste local homemade wines.
For the last day, you still have a half-day excursion to some of the must-see sights in Armenia.
Visit the UNESCO-recognized Garni Pagan Temple and Geghard Monastery.
Stop by the famous Charents Arch and listen to the story of the prominent Armenian poet and Soviet dissident Yeghishe Charents.
