Marayoor Sandalwood Forest, Thoovanam Waterfalls and Kanthalloor
Meet your tour guide at the hotel for pick-up and transfer.
Drive from Munnar to Marayoor. This is the only place in Kerala with natural growth of sandalwood trees. The processing of sandalwood and its associated oil forms part of the local economy. The area is also known for its famous Marayoor jaggery-making centres. Ancient dolmens and rock paintings in Marayoor date back to the Stone Age, and the dolmen caves, or Muniyaras, are fascinating destinations for anthropologists from around the world.
Embark on a short 4 km trek to Thoovanam Waterfalls.
Proceed to Kanthalloor, a rain shadow village of picturesque landscapes with a salubrious climate and a variety of tropical crops, making it an important tourist destination. Varieties of apple, orange, strawberry, blackberry, plums, gooseberry, egg fruit, peach, and passion fruit are found here. Drop off at the hotel.
