Yangon to Kyaiktiyo Golden Rock Pagoda
Meet your local Burmese guide early in the morning and depart for the Golden Rock. It is approximately a four-hour drive from Yangon.
Visit the Htauk Kyant War Memorial cemetery for Allied soldiers of the British Commonwealth who died in battle in Burma during the Second World War.
Enjoy the scenic views on the drive and observe how the locals live in the countryside. Take a break in Bago to savour a cup of tea.
Relish a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, either before or after visiting the Golden Rock.
Drive up to the Kinpun base camp, from where a steep 11-kilometre road leads to the upper staging point.
Take a public open truck to the summit of the mountain. Please note that the journey in the truck may be crowded and uncomfortable, but it is the only way to reach the peak.
Arrive at the top of the mountain and take your time sightseeing, marvel at the view, and see the amazing pagoda.
Return to the tour car and drive back to Yangon, where the tour will end at around 7 pm.
