The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival and Mandalay Highlights with Mingun Excursion

  • Meet your tour guide at Mandalay International Airport and proceed to check in at the hotel. Rest for a while.

  • Visit Mahamuni Buddha Image, which is the country's second most revered shrine after Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.

  • Explore the city's major highlights, including Shwenandaw Kyaung, the wooden monastery, and Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's largest book, followed by a wonderful sunset view.

  • Enjoy a marvellous view across the river and a panorama of the city before heading to Mandalay Hill.

  • Proceed to Mingun in the afternoon, located north of Mandalay and reachable only by boat.

  • See Mingun Paya, the largest temple in the world, and the Alabaster Pagoda Hsinbyume, an unusual stupa surrounded by numerous legends.

  • Witness a bell weighing approximately 90 tons in Mingun and the splendid traditional basket craft stalls.

Day 02

Sagaing Spiritual Sites and Amarapura Sunset

  • Visit Sagaing, which is considered the spiritual center of Myanmar, where around 3,000 monks reside.

  • Witness exquisite pagodas such as Swan Oo Pon Nya Shin, U Min Pin Thone Sae, and Shwe Taung Oo Maw Pagoda.

  • Go to Sagaing Market, a village of potters, the wooden monastery Bagaya, and the clock tower of Nan Myint, also known as the Leaning Tower of Ava.

  • Head to Amarapura to see a silk weaving workshop, followed by a visit to the sacred Mahagandayon Monastery.

  • Enjoy viewing the beautiful sunset from the legendary U Bein Bridge.

Day 03

Pyin Oo Lwin Gardens and Gokehteik Viaduct Train Ride

  • Visit Pyin Oo Lwin, known as the 'flower city' because of its gorgeous gardens.

  • Cross over the historic Gokehteik Viaduct by train to admire the beautiful surroundings while enjoying the ride.

  • Proceed to a colorful local market and the biggest botanical garden.

Day 04

Monywa Temples, Caves, and Sacred Sites

  • Head to Monywa, a major trading and commercial center for agricultural products surrounding the Chindwin Valley.

  • Visit Mohnyin Thabuddhei, which has half a million Buddha statues, Bodhi Tahtaung (a thousand great Bo trees), and the highest standing Buddha at 129 m.

  • See major tourist attractions such as the giant reclining Buddha, Phoe Win Hill with more than 900 caves, and Shwe Ba Taung.

  • Stop at Thanboddhay Pagoda to visit a great temple with an interior decorated with more than 500,000 miniature Buddhas.

  • Go to Botahtaung Pagoda, which houses the largest Buddha statue in Myanmar, measuring 100 meters long and 27 meters high.

  • Visit Po Win Taung, an exceptional site that contains 947 ancient caves hiding the richest collection of murals and Buddha statues in Southeast Asia.

  • Proceed to Shwe Ba Taung, a fascinating location with pagodas and monasteries carved into the rock.
