Mandalay Pagodas, Palace and Sunset at Mandalay Hill
Start the sightseeing tour with a visit to the Mahamuni Pagoda. Its spectacular Buddha image is covered with thick layers of gold leaves.
See stone carving and gold leaf being beaten into wafer-thin pieces.
Visit the craftsman's workshop to see Wall Hanging Kalaga tapestries. Also known as Shwe Chi Htoe in Myanmar, it means Gold Thread Embroidery.
Head to the Royal Palace, or Mya Nan San Kyaw, the palace of the last Myanmar king.
Head for lunch at a local restaurant.

Head to Kyauktawgyi Pagoda to see the large Buddha statue carved out of a single block of local marble.
