Day by day

The itinerary

1
Day 01

Drive to Nayapool and Trek to Ulleri

  • Set out from Pokhara and drive for an hour and a half to reach Nayapool.

  • Start trekking for 5 hours through the river, local villages, and forest.

  • You will experience a flat and easy walk to Tikkhedhunga (1540m).

  • Then trek uphill towards Ulleri (1960m), where you can see the spectacular view of Annapurna South and Himchuli.

  • Check in at a local tea house.

Day 02

Trek Through Forests to Ghorepani and Poon Hill

  • Walk for about one hour through Ulleri and Banthanti village.

  • Here, you will enter a thick forest and walk until you arrive at a breathtaking waterfall.

  • Reach Ghorepani (2860m) by lunchtime and enjoy a meal at a local tea house.

  • Walk to Poon Hill (3210m) to view the sunset over the panoramic Himalayas.

  • Overnight at a tea house.

Day 03

Sunrise Hike to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani

  • Set out for a hike to Poon Hill early in the morning.

  • From here, you will see a superb sunrise view and panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and others.

  • Return to Ghorepani, enjoy a hot breakfast, and continue walking to Tadapani.

  • Overnight at a tea house.

Day 04

Trek Through Forests to Ghandruk

  • Trek through the forests of rhododendron and oak. This is an easier trek, and this section rewards richly with bird sightings.

  • Reach Ghandruk, a prominent Gurung settlement where you can visit the local handicraft center and Gurung Museum. This village also affords good views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m), Annapurna III (7755m), and Fishtail.

  • In the evening, enjoy a typical Gurung cultural program (on demand).

  • Overnight at a tea house.

Day 05

Trek Back to Nayapool and Drive to Pokhara

  • Trek downhill to Birethanti and continue to Nayapool.

  • Drive to Pokhara by car and check in to the hotel.

  • You can take a walk around the lakeside of Pokhara.

  • Transfer to the hotel or continue to Kathmandu.
