Colombo Landmarks and Ceylonese Dining
2.30 PM: Start your tour with a visit to the Parliament House. The building was designed by the legendary architect Geoffrey Bawa, and it stands as living proof of Colombo's active political landscape.
Visit Cinnamon Garden, one of the most affluent neighbourhoods in Colombo. This area was once home to a vast cinnamon plantation during the Dutch period, and today many embassies and cricket grounds are located here.
Explore the Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple. It is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in the city and demonstrates an eclectic mix of Sri Lankan and Thai architecture.
Take a stroll along the promenade at Galle Face Green. This long open space once faced a narrow beach and the sea, and it was cleared by the Dutch to give the cannons of the Fort a clear line of fire. Today, it is the largest open space in Colombo and is maintained by the Urban Development Authority of Sri Lanka (UDA).
6.30 PM: End your tour with an authentic Ceylonese meal at a local house.
