Head out for an early morning game drive in Mikumi National Park, then return for breakfast.
After breakfast, depart for Ruaha National Park.
The drive to Ruaha is truly fascinating and gives you a real feel for the African countryside. Along the way, you will pass sisal plantations and local villages before climbing the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and passing through Iringa Town.
Arrive in the late afternoon and enjoy a game drive on the way to the lodge.
Head on for dinner and overnight at Ruaha Cottages.
After breakfast, go for a full-day game drive in Ruaha National Park. Ruaha National Park is the biggest national park in Tanzania; here, you will be able to see big groups of elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, kudu, and big cats like lions and leopards.
Take a break during the day and have lunch while watching some animals coming down to drink at the Ruaha River.
Continue with the game drive until sunset and return to the lodge.
Head for dinner and overnight at Ruaha Cottages.
After breakfast, depart for the Isimila Stone Age Site. The site is a dry bed of a former shallow lake, discovered in 1951, amid a landscape of small canyons and eroded sandstone pillars. It is one of a handful of sites that illuminate the ecology of the later Acheulean hand axe makers who occupied Africa between roughly 700,000 and 200,000 years ago. There is also a museum with small, well-captioned displays highlighting some of the finds.
With a guide, take a walk around the site.
Have lunch, then depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Park.
Dinner and overnight at Twiga Motel.
After breakfast, go hiking at Sanje Waterfalls.
Bring your swimming costumes for swimming at the base of the waterfalls.
Have lunch at the top with a great view.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Twiga Motel.
After breakfast, depart for Dar es Salaam.
Drop off at an agreed place.
