Marvel at the Mojanda lake complex, made up of three lakes located high in the Mojanda mountain system between Pichincha and Imbabura, at the foot of Fuya Fuya hill at an altitude of 4,263 m. This 2-day tour in Otavalo combines horseback riding and cycling through colourful landscapes, indigenous communities, and dramatic Andean scenery, ending with a relaxing stop at the hot springs of Nangulví.

Cycle for about 50 km until you reach the hot springs of Nangulví, fed by Cotacachi volcano, where you can relax and have lunch.

The itinerary

Day 01

Horseback Riding to Kari Cocha in Mojanda

• Start your program from your hotel at 09:00 am and arrive by car at one of the communities of Otavalo.
• Take your horses and make your way up through indigenous traditional crops and colourful landscapes.
• After a 3-hour ride, you will arrive at the first lagoon, known as Kari Cocha.
• Tie your horses and take a short explanatory walk, then enjoy your snack.
• Return by horse or by car, depending on your preference.
• Complement your experience in Ecuador with the following optional activities: adventure, rural accommodation, mountain promotions, and horseback riding.

Day 02

Cycling from the Andes to Nangulví Hot Springs

• Enjoy Andean, tropical, and subtropical landscapes, and observe potato production in the upper zone as well as coffee, cocoa, sugar cane, and other products grown in the lower areas.
• Start your program from your hotel at 08:00 am by car, passing next to Cuicocha Lagoon at an altitude of 3,200 m.
• Take your bikes and begin the descent through indigenous, Afro-Ecuadorian, and Mestizo communities.
• Cycle for about 50 km until you reach the hot springs of Nangulví, fed by Cotacachi volcano, where you can relax and have lunch.
• Return to your hotel in the afternoon.
