The itinerary

Day 01

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi via Morogoro and a Maasai Village

Pick up from your hotel, ferry, or airport and begin the drive to Mikumi National Park.
Stop in Morogoro town for a hot lunch.
After lunch, continue to a Maasai village for a short tour on the way to Mikumi. Here, you will have a chance to learn about the history of the Maasai tribe and their surrounding areas.

Drive on to Mikumi for an overnight stay at a budget lodge outside the park or a tourist cottage inside the park.

Day 02

Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

Drive to the park for a full-day game drive with your packed lunch box. Get a chance to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, lions, hyenas, hippos, buffaloes, elands, leopards, and other resident wildlife. Over 300 species of birds can also be observed in this park.

Dinner and overnight stay at a budget lodge outside the park or a tourist cottage inside the park.

Day 03

Return to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast, start driving back to Dar es Salaam city with a stop for a hot lunch in Morogoro town.

First priority will be given to this accommodation, but if it is not available, the second option outside the park will be used.
