The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.
  • In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner.

Day 02

Kathmandu UNESCO Heritage Sightseeing

Visit UNESCO World Heritage sites:

  • Pashupati Hindu Temple
  • Syambhunath (a very old Buddhist temple)
  • Patan Durbar Square (the old city)

Day 03

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

  • Take an early morning flight to Lukla.
  • On arrival, start trekking to Phakding (about 3-4 hours of normal walking).
  • You will see views of Kongde Peak, Numbur Himal, and Kusum Khanggaru on the way.
  • Gradually descend to Phakding village, passing through villages like Ghat and Tharokoshi.

Day 04

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

  • Start by crossing the suspension bridge and follow the Dudhkoshi River upstream for about two and a half hours to reach Manjo village.
  • Complete the national park entrance formalities in Manjo, then walk to Jorsalle, another Sherpa settlement, for lunch.
  • Then cross another suspension bridge and ascend to Namche Bazaar through pine forests. On this day, you will have your first view of Everest, Thamserku Peak, and Kongde Peak.

Day 05

Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

  • Proper acclimatization is essential for a successful trek to Everest Base Camp, so today will be a rest day on the trek itinerary.
  • You can take an excursion to the beautiful Sherpa villages of Khunde and Khumjung.
  • Another option is to visit the Everest View Hotel, where you will get fantastic panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt Everest.
  • Or you can visit the Sagarmatha National Park office in Namche Bazaar, where there is a Sherpa museum if you are interested in their culture.
  • If you have good physical fitness, you can visit another Sherpa village called Thame; it takes about 8 hours for a round trip from Namche Bazaar. Thame is the home village of Appa Sherpa, who summited Everest more than 15 times.
  • You may also spend your day exploring Namche itself; except for cars, everything necessary - bank/ATM, equipment hiring services, internet, etc. - is available in the mountain town.

Day 06

Trek to Tengboche (3820m)

  • Begin today's trek with comfortable ascents and descents to Kyangjuma, a small Sherpa settlement about two and a half hours from Namche.
  • Then, after continuing to walk for about half an hour, descend to the Dudhkoshi River through the pine forest. Cross the suspension bridge and reach another small settlement called Phungitanga, where you can have lunch.
  • Later, continue the trek to Tengboche, ascending steeply uphill for about 2 hours. Tengboche is a beautiful place from where you can see many mountains like Mt Everest, Lhotse, Island Peak, Mt Amadablem, Taboche Peak, and others. There is also a beautiful monastery called Tengboche Monastery, the biggest in this area. The Sherpa documentary station provides information about the Himalayan peaks and the Sherpa people in this area.

Day 07

Trek to Dingboche (4410m)

  • Descend for about half an hour to Dibuche, then walk to the river, cross it, and ascend gradually.
  • Along the way, you will see the Buddhist Mani wall and chortens.
  • On this day, we will also pass through villages like Pangboche, Samare, and Orsho, all Sherpa settlements.
  • Follow the Dudhkoshi River and have lunch in Samara, then continue to Dingboche for about two and a half hours. Dingboche is also a Sherpa village. From Dingboche, you can see panoramic mountain views from very close range.

Day 08

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

  • Rest day for acclimatization.
  • Take an excursion to Chhukung Sherpa village.
  • From this village, you can see Baruntse, Amadablem, Island Peak, Lhotse, Peak 38, and many more peaks closely.

Day 09

Trek to Lobuche (4910m)

  • Begin the day by ascending a bit, then walk to Dukla.
  • From Dukla, start ascending steeply uphill for about 1 hour to Labuche.
  • On this day, you can also see mountain views very closely, as well as the first view of Mt Pumori.
  • Enjoy the views of Taboche Peak, Labuche Peak, Chola Peak, Mt Pumori, Nupche, and many more.

Day 10

Trek to Gorekshep and Everest Base Camp

  • This is the last settlement on the trail; there are no more tea houses after this point.
  • When you get to Gorekshep, have lunch. In the afternoon, continue the excursion to Base Camp.
  • Spend some time at Base Camp and return to Gorekshep.

Day 11

Kalapatthar Excursion and Trek to Pheriche

  • Early in the morning, start your excursion to Kalapatthar for a fantastic uninterrupted view of the "World's largest Mountain" and other Himalayan peaks. (Kalapatthar - 5545m; 2-3 hours hike)
  • Trek back to Gorekshep, have breakfast, and continue trekking down to Pheriche.

Day 12

Pheriche to Tengboche (3820m)

  • Follow the trail back - descend to the river and ascend to Tengboche.

Day 13

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

  • It is about one and a half hours to descend to the river and ascend to Kyangjuma village.
  • Trek further to Namche Bazaar.

Day 14

Trek to Lukla (2840m)

  • Descend through the pine forest and get a last view of Everest as you move farther away from Namche.
  • Descend gradually, with the occasional ascent, to reach Lukla.

Day 15

Fly Back to Kathmandu

  • Take an early morning flight to Kathmandu.
  • Transfer to the hotel.
  • In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 16

Free Day in Kathmandu

  • This is a reserve day in case we cannot take the flight from Lukla to Kathmandu on time.
  • Enjoy the day at leisure with shopping and sightseeing on your own.

Day 17

Departure from Kathmandu

  • Drop off at the airport for departure.
