6-Day Private Slovenia Tour from Ljubljana with Bled and Soča Valley

We meet you at Ljubljana airport and take you to your hotel.

In the afternoon, your guide walks you through the old town along the Ljubljanica River, across the Triple Bridge and the Dragon Bridge, with a stop at Republic Square for the story of Tito's Yugoslavia. Take the funicular up to Ljubljana Castle and climb the tower for views over the city.

The day ends in an old town wine cellar with Slovenian wines, Kras pršut and local cheese.

Start early for Vintgar Gorge, a wooden walkway above the Radovna River, before the crowds arrive. Allow about 1.5 hours and wear good shoes.

Then continue to Lake Bled. Cross to the island by pletna boat, ring the bell in the church, and try the Bled cream cake back on shore.

On the way back, stop in Radovljica, a small medieval town known for gingerbread and honey, and have an early dinner at Gostilna Lectar, where gingerbread is still made by hand. On request, there can also be a short stop at Brezje, Slovenia's main pilgrimage church.

Spend the day by the most famous river in Slovenia. Start at Most na Soči, where the Soča and Idrijca meet, with a short paddleboat ride on the green water.

Walk the loop through Tolmin Gorge, the lowest entry into Triglav National Park, passing Dante's Cave and crossing the Devil's Bridge. Near Kobarid, an easy walk leads to Kozjak Waterfall, hidden inside a rock chamber.

Lunch is in the valley, where local trout is the thing to order, and we drive back to Ljubljana in the evening.

Discover the rolling vineyards on the Italian border, often called the Slovenian Tuscany.

Walk the stone lanes of Šmartno, a small walled village on a hilltop, and climb the Gonjače tower for views stretching from the Alps to the Adriatic on a clear day.

Lunch is at a family farm, with their Rebula wine, olive oil and home cooking. Return to Ljubljana by early evening.

Enjoy an easy day in the east. Visit Olimje Monastery and its old pharmacy, taste handmade chocolate next door, and have lunch at the Jelenov Greben deer farm, where you can feed the deer.

Spend the afternoon at Wellness Orhidelia in Terme Olimia, Slovenia's best-known thermal spa, then head back to Ljubljana for your last evening.

Breakfast at the hotel, then we drive you to Ljubljana airport in time for your flight. Transfers to Zagreb, Venice or Trieste airports are possible on request.
