Day 01

Kairouan and the Road to Tozeur

Drive towards southern Tunisia.
Visit Kairouan, including the Great Mosque and the historic Medina.
Continue towards Tozeur.
Overnight in Tozeur.

Day 02

Mountain Oases, Star Wars Sites, and Ksar Ghilane

Visit Chebika, Tamerza/Tamaghza, and the mountain oases.
Continue by 4x4 Jeep to the Star Wars filming locations around Ong Jemel/Mos Espa.
Return towards Tozeur and continue across Chott el Jerid, Tunisia's famous salt lake.
Stop in Douz, the gateway to the Sahara.
Continue to Ksar Ghilane.
Overnight in a desert camp/lodge in Ksar Ghilane.

Day 03

Berber Villages from Ksar Ghilane to Matmata

Leave Ksar Ghilane and head towards the Berber villages of southern Tunisia.
Visit Chenini, one of the most spectacular Berber mountain villages.
Continue to Ksar Hedada, famous for its traditional ghorfas and Star Wars connection.
Visit Ksar El Ferch.
Continue to Toujane, a beautiful Berber village built into the mountains.
Continue to Matmata.
Overnight in Matmata.
