Livingstone Museum, Historic Town and Local Markets

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. If you are coming from Zimbabwe, please allow an extra 45 minutes for border processing.

Visit the Livingstone Museum, the main highlight of the tour, and spend 1.5 hours exploring its archaeological, ethnographic, and natural history galleries. You will also spend time in the David Livingstone room, viewing his original letters, journals, and surgical instruments.

Continue with a guided drive along Mosi-Oa-Tunya Road through the historic town center to admire early 20th-century architecture. Along the way, you will pass the 1921 European Library, the old Standard Chartered Bank building, and historic colonial-era bungalows.

Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Maramba Market, the largest local community market in Livingstone. Your guide will walk you through sections filled with colorful Chitenge fabrics, dry goods, local fish, and fresh Zambian produce.

Later, visit Mukuni Park Curio Market, a peaceful, shaded outdoor craft market. This is the best spot to interact directly with local artisans and shop for hand-carved wooden masks, soapstone sculptures, and woven baskets.

After the tour, return to your lodge, hotel, or the Victoria Falls border post.
