Los Tres Ojos, Columbus Lighthouse and Colonial City
The tour starts with pickup at the traveler's hotel, Airbnb, or accommodation in Santo Domingo. From there, the route continues by private vehicle through a mix of natural, historical, and cultural stops that help explain different sides of the city.
The first visit is Los Tres Ojos National Park, a cave system with blue lagoons, limestone formations, tropical vegetation, and natural paths inside the capital. It is one of the most surprising places in Santo Domingo because it feels hidden within the city.
The tour then continues to the Columbus Lighthouse, a large monument-museum connected to the 500th anniversary of Columbus's arrival in the Americas. Its architecture, cultural rooms, and historical displays offer a different look at Santo Domingo's modern history.
After that, the route moves into the Colonial City for a quieter cultural stop at the Banreservas Cultural Center. Depending on the current exhibition, the visit may include Dominican art, history, photography, or other local cultural displays.
The final planned stop is the Taíno Cultural Center Casa del Cordón, a historic building that adds context about Indigenous heritage and the early history of the island.
The tour ends with drop-off at the traveler's accommodation in Santo Domingo, unless another nearby ending point is agreed during the tour.
Full-day option: This half-day experience can be extended into a full-day tour by adding two more museums or cultural stops and a local food stop. Food and drinks during the food stop are not included in the tour price.
