Begin your wildlife experience at the Kartong Reptile Farm, where you'll discover a variety of reptiles and learn more about their behaviour, ecology, and conservation.
Depending on the animals and conditions during your visit, you may encounter:

Crocodiles
Your guide will introduce you to the different reptiles and explain their characteristics, behaviour, and role within the ecosystem.
Where available and appropriate, supervised interactions with selected animals may be offered.
Continue to a local sea turtle conservation project in Gunjur and learn about efforts to protect sea turtles along The Gambia's coastline.
Turtle activity varies throughout the year, so experiences at the conservation project depend on the season and current conservation activities.
August-November: potential hatchling activity and turtle releases, depending on conservation conditions.
June-July: nesting season and hatchery-related conservation activities, depending on the current project schedule.
December-May: other conservation activities and information about sea turtle protection may be available.
Important: Specific turtle sightings, nesting activity, and hatchling releases are seasonal and cannot be guaranteed.
Choose your coastal experience: Tanji or Sanyang.
Visit Tanji Fishing Beach and experience one of the most active fishing areas along The Gambia's coast. Observe local fishermen, fishing boats, and the everyday activity surrounding the beach.
Alternatively, continue to Sanyang Beach for a more relaxed coastal experience. Enjoy time by the Atlantic Ocean, walk along the beach, relax, and take in the surrounding coastal landscape.
