We begin with a guided exploration of the historic centre of Maputo.
Rather than simply visiting monuments, the tour follows the story of the city - from its early development and colonial period to independence and modern-day Maputo.
We will explore important landmarks and areas including:

Maputo Cathedral
Maputo Municipal Council
Maputo Fortress
Central Market
Iron House
Tunduru Botanical Gardens
CFM Central Railway Station
Avenida Samora Machel
Historic downtown streets and architecture
Throughout the walking tour, your guide will explain the history, architecture, cultural influences, and transformation of Maputo.
There will also be opportunities for photographs and short stops along the way.
12:00 - 13:00 | Traditional Mozambican Lunch
We take a break for lunch at a selected local restaurant.
This is not simply a meal break - it is part of the cultural experience.
Depending on availability, the menu may include traditional Mozambican dishes such as:

Bottled water is included.

After lunch, we continue to Mafalala, one of Maputo's most historically and culturally significant neighbourhoods.
With a local guide, we walk through the neighbourhood and discover the stories behind its streets, homes, people, and traditions.
