Soft Bags Only: You must use soft-sided duffel bags with no hard frames or wheels. Rigid suitcases cannot fit into the small cargo pods of light aircraft.
Weight Limits: Total luggage weight is strictly limited to 15 kg (33 lbs) per person, including your camera gear and hand luggage.
Neutral Clothing: Pack lightweight clothing in safari tones such as khaki, olive, brown, or beige. Avoid blue and black, as they attract biting tsetse flies, and avoid bright white or camouflage patterns.
Malaria Prophylaxis: Northern Botswana is a high-risk malaria zone. See a travel doctor weeks in advance for a prescription for prophylactics, such as Malarone or Doxycycline.
Mandatory Insurance: You must purchase comprehensive travel insurance that explicitly covers emergency medical evacuation from remote bush locations by light aircraft.
Unfenced Campsites: Animals walk freely through campgrounds at night. Never walk alone after dark, leave your tent at night, or keep any food inside your tent.
