Day 01

Arrival and Safari Introduction at Sweetwaters

  • Arrival and meet with your driver-guide at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

  • Drive to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary and arrive in time for lunch.

  • An afternoon game drive gives you an opportunity to visit the chimpanzee sanctuary. The combination of amazing wildlife and splendid views of Mt Kenya across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees a memorable safari experience. Set on 110,000 acres of wildlife land, this conservancy boasts an amazing diversity of animals, including the non-indigenous chimpanzees and the Big 5 - the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and lion - as well as other game such as Grevy's zebra, giraffe, Thomson's gazelle, black-backed jackals, Grant's gazelle, baboons, waterbuck, oryx, and several species of birds.

Day 03

Mt Kenya Region and Tree Hotel Wildlife Viewing

  • Drive to the Mt Kenya region after breakfast and arrive at your overnight game-viewing tree hotel in time for lunch.

  • Watch wildlife drinking at the floodlit waterhole, including the Big 5 as well as several other animals and birds.

Day 04

Rift Valley Journey to Lake Nakuru National Park

  • After breakfast, drive via Nairobi through the magnificent Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, best known for its flamingoes. Kenya's Lake Nakuru has been ranked among the world's most colourful destinations by National Geographic.

  • In the heart of the Kenyan Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru hosts one of the greatest bird spectacles on the planet, as hundreds of thousands of greater and lesser pink flamingos flock in blankets of pink to the water's edge to feed on the lake's algae. The park is also a sanctuary for black rhinos.

Day 05

Into Masai Land and the Masai Mara

  • After breakfast, traverse the Rift Valley and ascend its western rim into the Masai land. Red-clad, with spears, Maasai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, admirably unmoved by the presence of large predators. The Masai giraffe is visible in this park.

  • Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Mara, famous for the wildebeest and zebra migration and its abundance of wildlife.

Day 06

Full-Day Safari and Night Game Drive in Masai Mara

  • After breakfast, set out for morning and afternoon game drives in this spectacular game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. Picnic lunch boxes for full-day game drives are available. Blessed with a permanent water supply, Masai Mara has a permanent population of plains game. The "big five" - elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and rhino - are quite common.

    • There is also an option for an early morning balloon excursion to experience the panoramic Mara from a bird's-eye view.

  • Enjoy a night game drive to see the nocturnal animals out and about in the savanna land.

  • Overnight at AA Lodge on a full board basis.

Morning Game Drive and Return to Nairobi

  • After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive or spend some relaxing time.

  • Drive to Nairobi and drop off at JKI Airport for your onward flight.
