Arrival - Maun
For Fly-In Guests (Most Common)
If you are booking a standard fly-in safari package, your starting point is either Maun Airport (MUB) or Kasane Airport (BBK).
The Gateway: Maun Airport serves as the primary gateway to the Okavango Delta and is the most popular starting point.
The Meetup: You will meet the Desert & Delta Safaris or Safari Air representative directly inside the airport terminal after clearing customs.
The Flight: From there, you step onto a light aircraft scheduled charter flight for a 25-minute flight from Maun (or an 80-minute flight from Kasane) directly to the Xakanaxa airstripTo arrive at Camp Xakanaxa from your current location in Kasane, Botswana, you have two main travel options depending on your budget and preferred travel style:
Option 1: By Air (Recommended)
This is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to travel across the Delta terrain.
Flight Time: Approximately 70 to 80 minutes via a light aircraft charter flight.
Route: Fly from Kasane Airport (BBK) directly to the private Xakanaxa Airstrip.
Final Transfer: A lodge representative will meet you at the airstrip in an open 4x4 safari vehicle for a 25-minute scenic transfer to the main camp.
