The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Arusha and Free Time

When you arrive, you'll receive a warm welcome and be transferred to Karibu Heritage House in Arusha. If you have some free time, you can explore the city and visit popular spots such as the Cultural Heritage Site, Maasai markets, and local food markets, or even try canoeing at Lake Duluti.

Main Destination: Arusha (City)

Accommodation: Mrimba Palm Lodge

Day 02

Tarangire National Park Safari

In the morning, your tour guides will collect safari participants from Arusha and take them to Tarangire National Park for sensational first-day sights and wildlife spotting. As one of the largest national parks in Tanzania, Tarangire's spectacular landscape is home to huge herds of elephants, a pride of lions, and the intriguing baobab trees - a species known locally as "the Tree of Life" for the mythical powers some cultures believe it holds. This national park is also famous for the Tarangire River, which flows year-round and is the only natural water source in the wild within an eight-hour radius.

Day 03

Journey to Serengeti via Ngorongoro Viewpoint

After breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti. A long and bumpy road will take you on about 4-5 hours of fascinating game viewing en route as you drive up the crater highlands towards the vast plains of the Serengeti. If the weather is clear and not foggy, you will stop at Ngorongoro Viewpoint for 10 minutes to catch a glimpse of the caldera before continuing your drive to Serengeti. You will stop for a picnic lunch at Naabi Hill Gate before entering the park for an evening sunset game drive. After catching the sunset, you will proceed to the Seronera campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 04

Sunrise Game Drive and Transfer to Ngorongoro

Today, we recommend waking up early before sunrise. After your cup of coffee, you will head out for a sunrise game drive, when most animals are active because of the lower temperatures and reduced heat. Around 10 am, you'll return for a full breakfast. Afterwards, you will continue with an en-route game drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will arrive at Naabi Hill Gate around 2-3 pm for lunch, then check in to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After that, you'll proceed to Ngorongoro Simba Campsite, located on the crater rim, for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 05

Ngorongoro Crater Safari Experience

Following breakfast, you'll proceed with an early morning sunrise game drive and descend into the crater. Ngorongoro is a special place, and the first time you descend onto the crater floor is unlike any other safari experience in Africa. This is a world unto itself, where you'll encounter the crater's 600-strong population of hyenas, as well as critically endangered black rhinos. You'll also find elephants with larger-than-average tusks and more than 50 lions living in the crater. But it is the sheer beauty of Ngorongoro that will most likely stay longest in your memory. In the late evening, you'll exit the crater and drive to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and an overnight stay.

A local agricultural hub, the town is famous for its rice crops and the distinctive red bananas that Tanzania is known for. During this cultural tour, you'll be immersed in local life as a local guide walks with you through the streets of this African farming village, surrounded by beautiful nature. During the tour, you will visit an African school, church, market, and banana brewery - a great way to gain insight into the daily life of local people. After the tour, you will drive back to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 07

Mount Kilimanjaro Day Hike

Set off on a day hike on Mount Kilimanjaro and experience the majesty of Africa's highest peak. Starting early in the morning, you'll trek from the mountain's base, ascending through lush rainforests that give way to heather and moorland. Along the way, you'll be treated to sweeping views of the surrounding landscapes and the towering Kilimanjaro summit.

The trail winds through various ecosystems, offering a chance to spot unique flora and fauna. Depending on the route, you may reach viewpoints with stunning vistas of the glacier-capped summit and the vast plains below. Designed for day hikers, the trek includes plenty of stops to rest and enjoy the scenery.

After an enriching day of hiking, you'll return to the base, reflecting on the beauty of the landscapes and your sense of achievement. The safari wraps up with a drive back to the Arusha region, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel.
