Know before you go

  • Because you travel between lodges via small, light aircraft charters, baggage rules are non-negotiable for aviation safety:

    • Weight Limit: Maximum 20 kg (44 lbs) total per person. This includes all checked baggage, camera gear, and hand luggage.

    • Bag Type: Bags must be soft-sided duffel bags with no rigid frames or wheels. Rigid suitcases cannot physically fit into the small aircraft luggage pods.

    • Dimensions: Maximum bag size is 30 cm x 35 cm x 70 cm (12 in x 14 in x 28 in).

    • Malaria: All properties (Chobe, Xugana, and Moremi) are in high-risk malaria zones. Consult your travel clinic well in advance for prescription prophylactics.

    • Vaccines: A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required at immigration if you are entering Botswana from, or transiting through, a Yellow Fever endemic country, such as Zambia if visiting nearby Victoria Falls.
