Day 01

Fort of San Diego, Market, Rivera Mural and La Quebrada

Head to the Fort of San Diego and enjoy a guided visit to this historic fortress, built in 1616 by the Spaniards to protect the port from pirates. Explore the museums that reflect Acapulco's history and its cultural interchange with the East as well.
Visit the Municipal Market of Acapulco and explore the place where locals buy their groceries, fruits and vegetables, chicken, meat, and fish.
Arrive at the Main Square and head toward the Cathedral. See Diego Rivera's mural, created by the Mexican artist on the front facade of Casa de los Vientos, owned by the famous art collector and Diego's muse, Dolores Olmedo. It is a beautiful mural dedicated to Quetzalcoatl.
Enjoy a brief explanation of the mural before continuing to La Quebrada.
Enjoy the cliff divers show at La Quebrada, the impressive 112-ft. cliff, and witness the spectacular diving of brave natives.
