  • Avoid Blue and Black: Dark blue and black clothing actively attract tsetse flies, which carry a painful bite.
  • Layers for Extremes: Mornings and night game drives in an open 4x4 are freezing, dipping to 5°C / 41°F in winter, while mid-days are intensely hot. Bring a windproof jacket, beanie, and scarf alongside lightweight daylight clothing.
  • Power Solutions: Mobile camps operate on limited solar power or generators. Bring a high-capacity power bank and plenty of spare camera batteries, as charging opportunities are confined to the main camp area or the safari vehicle.

Know before you go

  • Health & Vaccinations
  • Malaria Prophylaxis: The Okavango Delta is a high-risk malaria zone. Consult a travel health clinic or doctor regarding antimalarial medication options.
