Description

Go off-road at more than 4 thousand meters above sea level, and enjoy impressive sights, lagoons, and strange rock formations of the Atacama Altiplano (high plateau)

Itinerary

Tara salt flat & pakana monks
- We will take the route in the direction of Paso de Jama. After 100 km of driving, before reaching the border, we will leave the main road to enter the unique landscapes of the region.
- Next to the main road, we will find the Pakana´s Monks, huge columns, and rock formations that seem to rise from the ground. After surrounding and admiring them, we will continue getting into the off-road land for a few kilometres more, until we find the rock Cathedrals and the Tara Salt Flat.
- On the way, we will find a good place to enjoy a picnic lunch.
Duration: 8 to 9 hours
There is no access to public toilets
Departure from San Pedro de Atacama: around 9 a.m.
