Day by day
Meet at Mineralnye Vody Airport with your Russian mountain guides and transfer to the Elbrus foothills. It is also possible to take an early morning flight for the schedule's second day; in this case, you will need to arrange a personal transfer.
Take a lift or cableway ride to the refuge at 3,720 m and stay in the huts or other accommodation places. This area serves as a base for acclimatisation for many mountaineers.
Overnight stay will be here.
Begin your climb towards Mount Elbrus (5,642 m). The ascent will start between 2-4 am, as decided by the guide. The climb takes around 8 to 12 hours on average.
Part of the route, during both the ascent and descent, can be covered by snowcat. The decision to use one must be made by 12 am on the day before the actual climb begins.
Descend back to the valley after the climb.
Transfer to the airport for flights departing after 9 pm.

The route
The fine print
Russian mountain guides: one lead Russian tour guide for the Elbrus weekend climb program and several assistants on summit day, with a strict ratio of one guide per three climbers. This means that if there are four clients in a group, they will be provided with two guides. There will be only one summit attempt.

The technical simplicity of the Elbrus climb can become a disadvantage in bad weather - the mountain's vast, smooth slopes are difficult to navigate in a snowstorm. Bad weather is quite common on Elbrus, which makes unguided climbing very dangerous. The guides know all the routes in detail and understand how to prepare for them properly.
Please note that if you have no high-altitude experience, you should choose an Elbrus climbing tour with a longer duration. Otherwise, this Elbrus weekend tour will most likely be a waste of money for you. The guides can take care of your safety, but we cannot guarantee that you will be able to reach the summit.
Climbers often choose this program as an addition to a Kazbek climb.
