Bagan Temples, Ancient Art and Irrawady Sunset

  • Visit Manisithu Market in Nyaung Oo to see the colorful vegetables.

  • Continue to Shwe-Zi-Gone Pagoda, one of the most significant monuments and a prototype of later Myanmar stupas, built in the 11th century AD.

  • Head to WetKyi and explore Gu-Byauk-Gyi Temple to witness the lovely wall paintings dating from the 11th to 13th century AD.

  • Proceed to Htilo-Minn-Lo Temple to see the famous stucco carvings and ceramic panels built in the early 13th century AD.

  • Witness Ananda, a masterwork of art and architecture from the 11th century AD by King Kyansit. Stop for lunch.

  • Arrive at Dhamma-Yan-Gyi Temple, the biggest temple in Bagan. Observe the wonderful brickwork commissioned by King Narathu.

  • Go to Sula-Mani Temple, one of the most beautiful temples in proportion, built by King Narapati-Sithu in the 12th century AD.

  • Visit the tallest That-Byin-Nyu Temple, built by King Alaung Sithu in the 12th century AD.

  • Walk around for a few minutes at the old Bagan palace sites within the city wall.
