Day 01
Galle Fort, Madu Ganga and Coastal Highlights
- Visit the Turtle Hatchery, established in 1988 to protect Sri Lanka's turtles from extinction.
- Enjoy a Balapitiya boat ride on Madu Ganga along the country's southern coast within the Galle District of the Southern Province of Sri Lanka.
- Travel to the Spice and herbal garden.
- Continue to the Moonstone Mine, which supplies numerous varieties of invaluable rare gems, precious and semi-precious stones in different pigments such as Blue Sapphires, Yellow Sapphires, Alexandrite, Zircon, Tourmaline, Star Ruby, Star Sapphires, Amethyst, Garnets, Topaz, Quartz, and more.
- Enjoy snorkelling and scuba diving at Bentota Beach and discover the Hikkaduwa coral reefs.
- Explore the Galle Dutch Fort in the Bay of Galle, built by the Portuguese in 1588 before being extensively fortified by the Dutch in the mid-1600s.
- Proceed to Kalutara Bodhiya Temple, a stupa located immediately south of the Kalutara Bridge in the Kalutara District of Sri Lanka.
