The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival at Kathmandu Airport

  • Meet the airport representative, who will be waiting for your arrival with your name placard. You will then be transferred to your hotel by private car, van, or bus, which takes about 20 minutes. They will brief you about the trip and arrange an appointment with your trekking leader for the following afternoon.

Day 02

Rest and Preparation Day in Kathmandu

  • Today, you will rest and prepare for your trip, including sorting your equipment for the trek.
  • Your trekking guide will meet you in the afternoon and provide detailed information about your trip. If you need any help, feel free to ask your guide, who will be happy to assist you.

Day 03

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

  • Depart for Lukla early in the morning and arrive at Tenzing and Hillary Airport. After a 35-minute scenic flight from Kathmandu, you will meet your guide, who will briefly explain the day's plan before you begin your trek towards Phakding.
  • Here, you can explore the town and take pictures of the shortest and most technical airstrip in the world while the small planes are landing and taking off.
  • Then begin your trek by walking along the Dudh Kosi River, descending gently until Thado Koshi and passing through Chaurikharka and Ghat as you approach Phakding.

Day 04

Trek to Namche Bazaar

  • Today, you head on to Namche Bazaar, walking along the bank of the Dudh Koshi River and crossing it many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags.
  • After entering Sagamartha National Park, the trail ascends steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar is the Gateway to Everest and is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchange services, internet cafes, and a bakery. It is one of the biggest villages along the entire Everest trail.

Day 05

Hike to Hotel Everest View

  • After breakfast, hike up to the Hotel Everest View, from where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Himalayas, including Everest.
  • You will pass through Syangboche Airport before returning to Namche Bazaar for lunch.
  • You can explore the town on your own for the rest of the afternoon.

Day 06

Trek to Tengboche Monastery

  • Head towards Tengboche at an elevation of 3,868 m. Begin with a 15-minute ascent to Chorkyang, then continue the trek along the western slope of the Dudh Koshi River while enjoying magnificent mountain views. Descend to Funki Tenga at an elevation of 3,200 m, followed by a steep climb after lunch to reach the famous Tengboche Monastery.
  • After reaching Tengboche Monastery, you can see stunning views of the Himalayan panorama from the top of the hill, where Hillary and Tenzin were blessed on the way to their historic summit of Mt. Everest.
  • The regular prayer ceremony in the monastery begins at around 3-4 in the evening, and you will be taken to observe the ceremony.

Day 07

Trek to Dingboche

  • Continue walking down the trail to Debuche, passing through dense rhododendron forest and crossing a modern iron bridge over the Imja Khola, from where the trail rises to Pangboche, passing several Mani walls and Manis.
  • The trail continues gently to Somare, and after another 2 hours of walking up to Dingboche, you can enjoy superb views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam.

Day 08

Hike to Nangkartshang Peak

  • After breakfast, hike up to Nangkartshang Peak (5,100 m), from where you get your first sight of Mount Makalu and a 360-degree view of the Himalayas, and then return to Dingboche.
  • You can explore the town independently for the whole afternoon.

Day 09

Trek to Lobuche

  • Climb towards Lobuche, gaining 500 m in elevation, beginning with a 15-minute steep ascent to a Chorten. The trail climbs gradually through the valley to Dugla at the end of the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier.
  • After an hour-long climb, you will reach the emotional ridge, where there are hundreds of memorials in praise of the climbers who have died in this region, and from where you will find yourselves surrounded by beautiful peaks.
  • Continue up the trail to Lobuche, a small town with just a few lodges, from where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset view over Nuptse.

Day 10

Trek to Everest Base Camp

  • Begin walking early in the morning from Lobuche to Gorakshep, along the left side of the well-known Khumbu Glacier.
  • After lunch, continue on to Everest Base Camp, which takes about 5 hours round trip from Gorakshep.
  • Head back to Gorakshep after enjoying the spectacular view of the Khumbu Icefall.

Day 11

Climb Kala Patthar and Descend to Pheriche

  • Start the day with the steep ascent to Kalapatthar, a small peak offering the most magnificent mountain scenery and the closest view of Everest.
  • Then descend to Pheriche via Gorakshep, picking up your belongings there and taking a slightly different route from Dugla to Pheriche.

Day 12

Trek Back to Namche Bazaar

  • Head down to Namche Bazaar, following almost the same route you took on your ascent, and pass through Tengboche Monastery, where you can taste a piece of fresh-baked bakery.

Day 13

Trek to Lukla

  • Walk all the way to Lukla, from where you began your trek.
  • Stop in Phakding to complete your great trip to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar.
  • Enjoy a party at night.

Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

  • Today, you can fly out to Kathmandu on a 35-minute scenic flight and enjoy a relaxed afternoon there.

Day 15

Full-Day Sightseeing Around Kathmandu Valley

  • You can spend the day on a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu Valley. The notable places to visit are:

Final Departure from Kathmandu

  • Today, you can do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs or gifts until your departure flight or drive, or commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us.
  • You will be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onward destination, if departing.

  • Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the famous trekking routes in the Everest Region of Nepal. Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world, located at an altitude of 8,848 meters above sea level. Located within Sagarmatha National Park, the mountain stands as a testimony to the spirit of the human race and its attempt to conquer nature's challenges. Among the eight mountains crossing the line of eight thousand meters, Mt Everest bears a big name in introducing Nepal on the global map.
