The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Vientiane and Capital City Tour

  • On arrival at the airport, meet the guide and transfer to the centrally located hotel.

  • After a short rest, visit the capital's major sights, such as Wat Sisaket.

  • En route to Laos' precious national heritage, see the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa.

  • Take pictures of the imposing Patuxay Park, also known as Vientiane's own Arc de Triomphe.

Day 02

Journey from Vientiane to Vang Vieng

  • Start a journey northbound and enjoy some breathtaking scenery en route.

  • Along the way, visit the busy and colourful 52 km market, where various hill tribes come to trade goods and buy provisions.

  • The next stop is Vang Xang, famous for its archaeological site dating back to the 11th century.

  • The final destination is the small and tranquil village of Vang Vieng, nestled on a bend of the Nam Song River.

  • After checking into the hotel, take a walk on the wooden bridge over the Nam Song River for sunset and drinks.

Day 03

Full-Day Cave and Kayaking Adventure in Vang Vieng

  • After breakfast at the hotel, explore the Water Cave, located about 15 km from Vang Vieng. To get there, drive out and then take a short trek through the Lowlander tribe village of Phaxang.

  • Visit Hoi and Loup caves and enjoy a tubing experience in the cave for roughly 15-20 minutes.

  • Return to the local transportation stop, then continue driving to the kayaking starting point and enjoy a kayaking experience down the Namxong River.

  • Have fun kayaking until reaching the stopping point, then enjoy free time at your own leisure.

  • Dinner on your own.

Day 04

Tham Jang Cave and Nam Ngum Lake Excursion

  • After breakfast, visit the famous Tham Jang Cave before leaving for the fabulous Nam Ngum.

  • On arrival at the lake, embark on a long-tail boat ride to visit fishermen's villages on various islets.

  • Have lunch at the lakeside restaurant, then drive back to Vientiane. On the way, make a stop to visit Ban Nabaw, famous for its salt extraction plant.

  • Arrive in Vientiane in the late afternoon.

  • After check-in, enjoy free time at your own leisure.

Day 05

Departure from Vientiane

  • After breakfast at the hotel, you can explore on your own until your transfer to the airport.
