4-Day Luang Prabang Cultural Heritage Tour with Mekong and Kuang Si

• Upon your arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, you will be met by your local guide and driver and transferred privately to your hotel for check-in.

• After some rest, arrange a suitable time with your guide to begin sightseeing, including a visit to Mount Phousi.

• Drive from the hotel before walking up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred gilded stupa, as well as a beautiful sunset view over the city and the Mekong River.

• From there, explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles created by hill tribe communities and local people from around Luang Prabang.

• After breakfast, continue your holiday in Luang Prabang with a visit to Wat Xieng Thong, a magnificent piece of architecture nestled at the meeting of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. The temple structures are decorated in various ways with gilded stuccoes and ornate doorways, while the main sim features a marvellous "tree of life" mosaic pattern on an outer wall.

• Embark on a boat for a leisurely trip along the Mekong River, stopping en route at Ban Muangkeo to observe the production of local rice wine and sample it.

• After leaving the village, pass through stunning mountain scenery on the way to the mysterious Buddha Caves. These two linked caves are crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues in various shapes and sizes, all brought there by devout villagers.

• Return to the hotel and spend free time at leisure.

Overnight in Luang Prabang.

• An optional early start gives you an incredible opportunity to participate in the daily morning ritual of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of alms, including ubiquitous sticky rice, from faithful residents.

• From there, visit the morning market before returning to the hotel. After breakfast, prepare for a leisurely day.

• Your exploration of Luang Prabang would not be complete without a visit to the National Museum in the former Royal Palace. This interesting structure displays a lovely collection of treasures and artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture, dating from the days of the early kings through to the last sovereign.

• Drive to Kwangsi waterfall, passing verdant and rugged scenery on the way and visiting hill tribe communities at Ban Lao Soung and Ban Ou. Here, take a walk to the beautiful Kwang Si waterfalls, where water tumbles over multi-tiered limestone formations into cool, crystal-clear pools, ideal for anyone seeking an enjoyable escape from the heat. These waterfalls are a paradise setting surrounded by lush forest.

• Visit Luang Prabang's best weaving center, "Ock Pop Tok," and learn about the traditional ways of weaving in Laos that have been passed down from one generation to another.

• Return to the hotel and spend free time at leisure.
