Day 01

Arusha to Tarangire National Park Safari

  • Depart from anywhere in Arusha after breakfast, with hotel pick-up and a direct drive to Tarangire National Park, carrying a picnic lunch.

  • During a game drive in the middle of the park, expect to observe herds of elephants.

  • Keep an eye out for leopards sitting on top of trees. Other animals that can be spotted in the park include buffaloes, impalas, zebras, warthogs, and giraffes.

  • Continue exploring the park until late evening with your Tanzanian safari guide.

  • Drive to Tarangire Public Campsite or Mto wa Mbu for dinner and an overnight stay.

2
Day 02

Tarangire to Serengeti via Lake Manyara

  • After breakfast, pack the camping equipment into the safari vehicle and proceed towards Serengeti via Lake Manyara through the Rift Valley escarpments.

  • There is also an option to visit a Masaai village and Olduvai Gorge, where you can see and touch a huge cast of actual footprints made by early human ancestors, known as Australopithecus afarensis. The prints of three hominins were miraculously preserved in muddy ash deposited by volcanic eruptions and hardened by the sun some three to six million years ago.

  • Arrive in Serengeti by the evening and go for a game drive in the park with your Tanzanian safari guide.

  • Drive towards Seronera Public Campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

3
Day 03

Full-Day Game Viewing in Serengeti

  • Wake up early and enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea before leaving the camp for morning game viewing in the heart of Serengeti National Park.

  • See the beautiful sunrise while game viewing.

  • Enjoy a game drive until midday.

  • Later, drive back to camp for a full breakfast and lunch, or brunch.

  • After brunch, leave the camp for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

  • Enjoy a game drive en route towards Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.

Dinner and overnight in camp.

Day 04

Ngorongoro Crater Tour and Return to Arusha

  • After breakfast, take a short drive to the descending gate and drive down into the crater for a half-day crater game drive, with a picnic lunch.

  • Only the lucky few can spot the black rhino here. Other permanent resident animals include the Big Five - elephants, buffalo, lions, and leopards. The crater has permanent water throughout the year, so many animals prefer to stay, although they are free to come into or move out of the crater.

  • After lunch, continue with a game drive before ascending to the crater rim and returning to camp.

  • Drive back to Arusha or Moshi.
