The itinerary

1
Day 01

Drive to Pokhara and Explore Phewa Lakeside

  • Depart early in the morning at 7 o'clock with your Nepali tour guide and drive for six hours by tourist deluxe bus to Pokhara (827 m), 200 kilometres west of Kathmandu.

  • Explore Pokhara, a beautiful valley with panoramic views of Annapurna and Machapuchare (shaped like a fishtail) in the north, Dhaulagiri in the west, and Lamjung Himal and Manaslu in the east. The town of Pokhara is set on the banks of Phewa Lake.

  • After resting for an hour upon arrival in Pokhara, explore the lakeside in the evening.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02

Trek from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga via Village Trails

  • Begin the first day of trekking at Nayapul (990 m).

  • After a one-and-a-half-hour drive in a private vehicle from Pokhara, walk along the bank of the Modi Khola to arrive at Berithanti.

  • Continue towards Tikhedhunga, following the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola and passing through many small villages and tea houses. The day is relatively easy and short.

Overnight at the lodge.

Day 03

Climb through Ulleri to Ghorepani

  • Leaving Tikhedhunga, begin the journey with a steep climb to Ulleri, a large Magar village at 2,070 meters. The trail then continues to ascend more gently through fine forests of oak and rhododendrons towards Banthanti at 2,250 meters.

  • Next, trek towards Nangethanti at 2,460 m.

  • After an hour's walk, arrive at Ghorepani at 2,840 meters.

Overnight at the lodge.

Day 04

Sunrise Hike to Poon Hill and Return to Pokhara

  • Early in the morning, start a one-hour hike to Poon Hill at an elevation of 3,210 meters. This brilliant vantage point provides perfect views of the early sunrise over the high Himalayas.

  • Spend about one hour there, then return to Ghorepani to enjoy a hot breakfast at the hotel.

  • After breakfast, trek back to Nayapul via Tikhedhunga, then drive for one and a half hours to Pokhara by private vehicle.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05

Sarangkot Sunrise and Return to Kathmandu

  • Go to Sarangkot early in the morning for a sunrise view. On a clear morning, the view of the Western Range of the Himalayas is superb.

  • Return to Pokhara and have lunch.

  • Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu, enjoying the 30-minute scenic flight, if so chosen.

  • Otherwise, have breakfast and drive for 7 hours to Kathmandu while enjoying the scenic views along the way.

  • Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

End of tour.
