The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arusha to Tarangire National Park Safari

  • At 7:00 am, depart from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for a game drive.

  • See elephants, lions, cheetahs, antelopes, and zebras. Voted the sixth national park in Tanzania, its name originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park.

End the day with an overnight stay in tents at the camping sites.

Day 02

Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park

  • Visit Lake Manyara Park, a beautiful park surrounded by forests and the lake. Most of the land area is a narrow strip running between the Gregory Rift wall to the west and Lake Manyara, an alkaline or soda lake, to the east.

  • You can easily see many animals here, especially primates and birds.

Stay overnight in tents at Karatu town or Mto wa Mbu village.

Day 03

Karatu to Central Serengeti

  • Leave at 7:30 am for Serengeti National Park on a four-hour drive.

  • Begin the game drive while crossing the kopjes, and get a chance to spot lions, cheetahs, and antelopes.

Stay overnight in tents at the camping sites in central Serengeti.

Day 04

Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti

  • At Serengeti National Park, the annual migration of wildebeests and zebras is a well-known spectacle. These animals usually move north from their breeding grounds into the grassy southern plains, crossing the crocodile-infested Gurumeti River along the way.

  • Start your day here with a full-day game drive. At the Seronera campsites, you can spot various members of the cat family, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

  • Check out the crocodile and hippopotamus populations in the surrounding rivers.

Day 05

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

  • Visit the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area and witness the vast volcanic Ngorongoro Crater.

  • Get a chance to view the annual migration of wildebeests as they move along the plains. Some of these wild animals are also livestock for the semi-nomadic Maasai tribe in this region.

Stay overnight at Karatu town.

Day 06

Maasai Boma Visit and Return to Arusha

  • Experience the local way of life with a visit to a Maasai Boma with our Tanzania safari tour guide.

  • Walk through Mto wa Mbu village, eat local food, and shop for souvenirs at a local shop.

Drive back to Arusha.
