Day 01

Þórsmörk Reserve, Glaciers, Waterfalls, and Black-Sand Beach

  • Walk up to the edge of the Eyjafjallajökull glacier and see where a small glacial lagoon was washed away in a volcanic eruption in April 2010. Then, return to the beautiful south shore of Iceland.

  • Visit the impressive waterfall of Seljalandsfoss. On Sólheimajökull glacier, there is an opportunity to take an easy glacier walk on crampons up to the ice field, a 1.5-hour walk. It is an experience you never forget. Your guide will show you how to use the equipment for your walk on the ice field. Please note that the glacier walk is not included in the tour price and is not for children under 12 years.

  • Drive to the magical Reynirsfjara beach with its basaltic columns, where puffins can be spotted during the summer.

  • At the end of the day, go to the Skógafoss waterfall before returning to Reykjavik after a full-day tour.

    Optional: End the day relaxing at a warm outdoor swimming pool in Reykjavík.
