Visit the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), a research facility set amidst regenerating lowland forest in Kepong. FRIM promotes the sustainable management and optimal use of Malaysia's forest resources by generating knowledge and technology through research, development, and application in tropical forestry. This tour also includes the canopy walkway in the Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve, where you can walk high above the ground while learning about the reserve and the institute.

The walkway system spans about 200 meters and is suspended between trees at about 30 meters above the ground.

Day 01

FRIM and Canopy Walkway Experience

• Arrive at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM). The grounds of FRIM host magnificent mature Dipterocarp species and more.

• The tour includes the canopy walkway, located in the Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve. At about 300 m above sea level, the walkway was constructed in 1992 with assistance from the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ). The walkway system spans about 200 meters and is suspended between trees at about 30 meters above the ground.

• Enjoy walking across the walkway while learning about the reserve and the research institute.
