Rune Workshop and Cultural Experience in Eyrarkot
Start at Harpa Concert Hall, where participants will be picked up.
Drive along a beautifully scenic 40 km route to Eyrarkot in Kjós.
Meet the Priestess, the respected Icelandic völva and runemaster Jóhanna Harðardóttir, who will welcome you at a cute country inn in charming Kjós, a little under half an hour's drive from Reykjavík.
Relish traditional winter soup and bread along with spoonfuls from Jóhanna's deep well of wisdom on the origin and meaning of the runes and how they connect with the elements.
In a small workshop, she will show you how to make your own set of runes and give you the basics of using and reading them. The workshop concludes with a personal reading by the völva for all participants.
Look out for the Northern Lights on the way back and stop to enjoy them if they make an appearance, so dress warmly just in case.
