Embark on an adventurous trek to one of the most dramatic mountains in Wadi Rum. Travel from Raqabat Canyon to Zarnuoq Daber Canyon, enjoy a magical sunset, and summit Jabal Khazaali via the Sabbah route. If you are lucky, you may spot ibex and other local wildlife while taking in the astounding panoramic views from the top before abseiling down from Jabal Khazaali.

Abseil down from Jabal Khazaali through a narrow gorge, completing 14 abseils ranging from 6 to 50 meters to reach Rum Village.

The itinerary

1

Day 01

Raqabat Canyon to Zarnuoq Daber and Bedouin Camp

• Meet your tour representative in Wadi Rum Village.

• Ride by jeep to begin canyoning from Raqabat Canyon to Zarnuoq Daber Canyon, including abseiling down 2 dry waterfalls measuring 35 and 25 meters.

• Then, watch an amazing sunset.

• Later, continue by jeep to reach a Bedouin camp.

Day 02

Climb Jabal Khazaali via the Sabbah Route

• After breakfast, ride by jeep to the starting point of Jabal Khazaali.

• Begin scrambling to the summit through the Sabbah route.

• From the summit, take a 1-hour walk to reach the camping spot.

Day 03

Canyoning Through Khazaali Siq to Rum Village

• Abseil down from Jabal Khazaali through a narrow gorge, completing 14 abseils ranging from 6 to 50 meters to reach Rum Village.

• Head to the parking spot and return.

Know before you go

• This route is used to reach the southern summit of Khazaali and then access the canyon descent. It is awe-inspiring, with amazing views. Jebel Khazali rises 740 metres above the desert plain. When you are at the top, you have an even better view from Khazaali than from the top of Jebel Rum.
• Important Notes:
  • The physical rating of this program is moderate.
  • We will face some potholes.
  • Everybody must fill in and sign the "knowledge of risk" papers.
  • We do not accept participants less than 15 years old in this program.
  • Our Jordanian guides are CPR-certified, trained in survival situations, and have extensive knowledge of our trail system. Do not venture out alone! We have everything you need for an outdoor adventure.
  • All of our gear is from PETZL (the undisputed brand in vertical products) and BEAL (the leading brand in climbing, security, and rescue ropes), and both are certified by the International Mountaineering Federation: UIAA, EN, CE, and NFPA.
  • Bring your camping equipment.
  • Food can be bought from Rum Village.
