3-Day Gorilla Trekking Safari in Bwindi from Kampala

• Meet your guide and set off early from Kampala for your gorilla trekking adventure. Be prepared for a long day in the car.

• Along the way, stop at the equator for photos and have lunch in Masaka or Mbarara, depending on the time.

• Continue on to Bwindi through the neck of the impenetrable forest.

Overnight in Gorilla Mist Camp or equivalent.

• Have an early breakfast before setting off for your gorilla trekking adventure with a specialized guide. Besides the gorillas, this Impenetrable Forest is full of birds, butterflies, and plant species, as well as forest hogs, forest elephants, sitatungas, and dikers.

• Enjoy the walk through the forest and spend one hour around the gorillas.

• After the gorilla trek, your guide will pick you up and, depending on the time you return from trekking, begin the journey back toward Kampala to reduce tomorrow's travel time. The aim is to spend the night at the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park, with an exciting drive there and a chance of seeing baboons and other monkeys along the way, as well as a chance of spotting elephants from the lodge.

Overnight in Pumba Safari Cottages (depending on the time back from trekking; if you return late, overnight will be in Kabale).

• After breakfast, set off towards Kampala.

• Have lunch along the way.

• Get back to Kampala in the late afternoon or evening after meeting the gorillas of Uganda.
